OK...I thought everything was going rather well, other than an
occasional hang, which, though irritating was not getting me killed too
often. Now that I'm up to the prison ship level again, (no help to the
manual for getting through the vault...really bad walkthrough...missed
lots of enemies and secrets...if anyone has a better walkthrough for the
vault, I'd appreciate it) the hanging is becoming much more than
irritating...much more often, and much longer, and is getting me killed.

I'm running XPPro with 512 RAM on a 2.4 P4 in win98/Me compatibility
with the 1.01 patch...any suggestions?...what is the patch for?, and
where can I get the 1.5 patch mentioned in another post, and what is it for?

Any suggestions for a good site still in existence?..All of my
bookmarked sites are gone. I'm trying to get up to speed so I can join
you guys....

Also, I'm not sure if it was mentioned earlier, but Gamespy Arcade has
Forsaken on it, I think.

If you want to play over the net, don't install any patch. The
patches apply some stuff like headlights or new sounds. But also
high pings. And they are incompatible with the original version.
You would not be able to join v1-matches.

With having a patch installed you can't. Most poeple on the net do
play unpatched.

I have a Forsaken walkthrough if you want it. If you have ICQ or a FTP
program I can get it to you. It is around 9 meg.

The Zone has done it again. Changed the DirectPlay room. Here is what you
have to do.
Go here : http://zone.msn.com/en/root/cdclassic
When the page displays, click on the " CD-ROM " tab. Then scroll to the
bottom of the new page and click on
" ZoneLAN - DirectPlay " and you are there. See
you there !

I don't have ICQ anymore, but I do have an ftp client I can fire up..you
may have to walk me through connecting to you, though.

I just finished a couple of hours of trying to get it to run without a
patch, and it doesn't work in any of the compatibility modes, no matter
what options I use. It only runs in software mode and 640X480, which
makes it hard to see even the start menu...lots of gaps in the pixels,
invisible walls, etc..and it won't recognize either of my controllers
both logitech cordless, one joystick and a gamepad. Do you guys play
mouse/keyboard?...and in software mode?

Anything goes wrong in your sys. I know Forsaken runs pretty good
under XPp except the demo-play. If you cant solve it i could send
you the 3 exes (got the TNT-Version of Forsaken that was bundled
with the TNT in '98. That version seemed to run a bit easier on

I have AIM, Yahoo messenger, and mIRC, as well as an ftp client, don't
remember which, that I can reinstall...or I can get a new copy of ICQ if
that's better. I had Trillian for awhile, I can put that back on. Tell
me what you want me to do. Don't know what the TNT version is, but I'll
assume it's newer than what I'm using. My video card is an ASUS 9520 VS,
which is a NVidia GeForceFX 5200 made by ASUS on an ASUS P4PE mobo and
Audigy2 soundcard ..P4 2.4 gz...512 RAM...running XPPro...

I am "justdenny" on AIM, on Yahoo, and on mIRC's Undernet. My ICQ ID is
long lost, so I will have to get a new one if you want me to get that.
